About Me

Sue Saxby-Smith

I hold an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Surrey and my work integrates a range of approaches including person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I believe in the importance of building a relationship based upon mutual trust and respect for the individual.

In addition to my private practice, I have also worked as a Staff Counsellor in the NHS, as a visiting lecturer at the Research Centre for Therapeutic Education at Roehampton University, and for counselling services in Guildford and Wimbledon.

I am an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
